Amalgam fillings contain mercury. There are lots of theories about how this might affect your body. Unfortunately, the powers that be vigorously deny these theories.
My opinion is that you don't rule anything out without extensive testing.
Since amalgams have been around for over 150 years, you can't tell me that they were tested up to the standards that we have today. However, the major power hitters are not addressing this issue or even taking a look at it.
Just ponder for a moment how many people have mercury fillings. (chances are you do, if you have any fillings at all)
Anyway, there are those who oppose these theories about mercury harming the body via mercury ladened fillings.
I say, 'err on the side of caution'.
